28 Weeks

Here are belly pictures of me and the baby girl at 28 weeks. The doctor said she is growing right on time. We will be scheduling a c-section sometime during the 39th week, 4/6-4/10, not sure the exact date right now. Our favorite, and probable name, is Lindsey Kate. It was brought to my attention a couple days ago that 3 months from now, I won't be pregnant anymore. It's bittersweet I guess, considering this is most likely our last pregnancy. We can't wait to meet her!

Whitney Playing and Eating (22 Months)

Just a couple cute videos of Whitney around the house. One playing with some flash cards and the other of her learning to use a spoon. She hasn't mastered it yet, but she's getting better!

Whitney Little Gym Show Day and Baby Girl #2 at 26.5 Weeks

Whitney had "Show Day" at her Little Gym class last week. She loves going and seems to have a different favorite piece of equipment every week, although hanging on the bars and balance beam seem to be all time favorites. She's learning so much all the time!
Hanging out...
Walking on the beam by herself for the first time...
Shake your bells...

We had our specialist ultrasound last Thursday to check on the calcium deposit on the baby's heart. After further investigation, the doctor said there is nothing to worry about. Answered prayers! First of all the spot, even though it is showing up white on the ultrasound, she felt that is was not abnormally white, that it would need to be much brighter in order to be a concern. Secondly, the spot in on a part of a valve that allows it to open and close, so its not that this is some kind on "foreign" body in her heart, just something that is showing up more white than usual. She said they see this more frequently now, mainly because ultrasound technology is so good now. These spots are a "soft sign" of Down's Syndrome, however all of her other tests and measurements, which are more significant signs, are all fine and dandy. She is growing bigger everyday and ultimately, so am I. She's kicking in all directions and getting up under my ribs now. At this appointment she weighed 2lbs...Sorry, I won't be sharing what I weighed! Certain angles and pictures that they got reminded me alot of what Whitney looked like. We'll see!

Happy New Year!

Happy 2009! We rang in the new year with our friends Keith and Nikki Cutright from Chilli. Nikki and I finally went to bed around 2am, Keith and Ben stayed up til about 345am and when Ben came to bed he claimed he hadn't done that since college. I beg to differ, but regardless it took him longer to recover than it did in college.

The football season is officially over now. The Falcons lost in their playoff game in Arizona over the weekend. Ben was excited to get to go to the game and even got to go to a Buckeye practice since they were out there for their own game. I am starting to get more uncomfortable. I am 26 weeks today. I thought maybe that the uncomfortableness was coming on a little sooner than it did with Whitney, but I just looked at my journal for Whitney's pregnancy and it started about the same time. I am definately starting to feel like I need to get all my ducks in a row...maybe that's not anything new...
There's really not a whole lot going on around here. We got all of our Christmas stuff taken down and put away and things are starting to get back into their normal flow. Whitney starts back to school tomorrow which I know she is happy about. She loves it and has been singing "school today, school today" for the last 5 days. We've had to stay indoors lately since it has been rainy for the last few days, but that's good for us. We need the rain for sure! Whitney hasn't been struggling to find things to entertain herself with though. We play with alot of playdoh, Mrs. Potato Head, read and get chased by Daddy (Whitney, not me). Last week, we went to the Georgia Aquarium and she just loved seeing all the "fishies". She just stared at them, pointed at them and made sure we all saw them as well. It was pretty cool. By far the best part was the huge tank with all kinds of fish, but these enormous whale sharks as well. They were huge! I mean huge!

So, we've been working on counting with Whitney and she'll somewhat count to 5, but the other day while we were playing with her number puzzle she put the 9 back in its spot, said "nine" and then continued onto 14. We've never worked with her past 10, except for counting stairs as we go up or down. Apparently she has just been picking up on it. Everyday we are amazed at how much she just learns on her own.
