House Update

It's been awhile since we've seen the house.  Ben had a bye last weekend so we were able to go back home for a few days.  They have made a ton of progress.  Basic clean up, wallpaper, plantation shutters, the beams are finally in, all granite, all appliances, all painting is done, almost all cabinets, faucets, cabinet hardware, most lighting.  A lot of progress.  Still there is more to be done, but only a few more weeks.  We're hoping we'll be able to sneak in a trip in a month or so, even for just the day.  We cannot wait to get moved in there!

Missing Tooth!

Whitney lost her first tooth!  Finally!  She has been waiting and waiting and waiting!  She's been wiggling and wiggling for several months.  And really wiggling for the last few days.  She and daddy have been working that thing over at night loosening it up.  And finally, it happened!

And the tooth fairy?  Well, she didn't come.  But by this little girls choice.  She placed it carefully under her pillow, daddy tucked her in tight and then...she came out of her room, in tears, not wanting to give her tooth away.  She said she was "going to miss her tooth" and that she "just wanted to keep it so she could remember the first tooth she lost."  Well, you just can't argue with that, so we told her she didn't have to give her tooth away to the tooth fairy, or any tooth for that matter.  So now she says she's going to keep all of them.  Totally fine by us.  She may have slight hording tendencies though that we'll need to keep our eye on.

HUGE WIN!

We smothered the NY Giants this weekend.  38-zip.  That very rarely happens in the NFL.  And, not to be ugly, but it very rarely happens with the Panthers.  So it was a very exciting game!  We gained some good motivation.  Unfortunately, we have a bye next weekend, but hopefully the good vibes will continue for the guys the following week!

We also got to celebrate Grammy's birthday during the weekend.  The girls are always down for a party!

Roller Skating

Whitney's school does a skate night once a month, so we decided to give it a try.  It was a blast!  The girls caught on pretty quickly and we can't wait to go back next month!  That is, if mommy and daddy don't organize an adult date night before then!

Snuggly Bedtime

Every night after we read books the girls give each other one last hug/"waller"/play session.  There are lots of giggles and smiles.  It looks something like this:

Fair!

Fun times at the Cabarrus County Fair again this year.  We are really going to miss this fair some day!  Rides, games, guns, food, pigs, acrobats...I mean, really, what more could you ask for?

Play 60

Ben and some teammates helped unveil a fun new park for kids sponsored by the NFL.  They're all goof balls.

First Game of 2013

First game of the season, first home game, vs. Seattle...first loss.  Bummer.  Happy, though, that Ben was able to play after just getting his cast off a week prior.  He eased back into things during the week and held up pretty good during the game.

1st Day of School in Charlotte

So, we got "moved" to Charlotte over Labor weekend and the girls started school the next day.  They are both back at their same schools as last year.  Whitney at Olde Providence Elementary and Lindsey at Forest Hill Preschool.  We are looking forward to a great fall and are excited to finally be back together as a family!
