Celebrating Grammy's Birthday

Ben's parents came down to stay with the girls while I went on a girls trip with my friends to Seaside, FL and Ben went to his game in Atlanta.  While I was gone the girls got to celebrate Grammy's birthday with cake and, the Hartsock tradition, birthday whacks!

Lindsey the Soccer Player

Lindsey started soccer.  Her choice, over dance.  Coach Jacob has his hands full with this group of three year olds!  She seemed to enjoy it.  I only caught her gazing into the distance a couple of times.  :)

Training Wheels

Lindsey has officially upgraded to a big bike with training wheels.  I think with all the growing up Whitney is doing, I've seemed to miss that Lindsey is growing up too.  How in the world does that happen?!

Festival in the Park

We found another fair to go to, only since this one is in the city they call it a "festival" to class it up a little bit.  But don't let them fool you, we saw several of the same food vendors the the "festival" that we saw at the hillbilly fair.  It's ok that they want to be fancy, we will still indulge in the rides, food, people watching and sweating just as happily in the big city.  :)

Prime Time

Thursday Night Football.  Random thought...Do they play football every night of the week now?  Anyway, Thursday Night Football in Charlotte versus the Super Bowl Champion Giants.  Unfortunately, not...not our best showing.  We are now 1-2.  Still a lot of season left.  Ben didn't get to dress for the previous game against the Saints (which we won, and which I also forgot my camera).  But he did get some snaps against they Giants.  Well done hubby!

Cararrbus County Fair

This fair has become, probably our favorite thing in Charlotte.  They really have it all.  Rides, games, pig races (on land and water!) food, including deep fried Reese Cups and this year they added the Star Family Circus complete with death defying acts!  Whew!  It was grand!

First Day of School in Charlotte

Who wouldn't want to celebrate another first day of school?!  Sometimes I really wonder what sort of damage we are doing to our children...they seem to be adjusted though?  Whitney had her second first day of Kindergarten at her new school, Olde Providence.  Her teacher, Mrs. Lewis, is fantastic!  Sings, makes up songs, makes up hand clappy things.  Whitney seems to be falling right in line.  Except for talking...oh, her talking...Lindsey also started at her preschool on the same day.  She's been so excited to start school.  It's at the same place they went last year, Forest Hill, so things are very familiar to her and she is loving it!

So excited daddy got to come with us on this first day since he wasn't able to be there for the first day in Georgia!

Season #9

The start of the regular season.  Ben's 9th year.  He made the team.  There's always uncertainty, especially since he is "old" now.  9 years is just hard to believe.  The team left early in the week for Tampa because the DNC was in Charlotte, so they got out of dodge.  The girls and I "moved" up on Sunday just in time to watch the game on TV.  We lost.  But we were oh so happy to be back in the same city with daddy once again!  Here's to another year!
