Jets vs. Jacksonville

Not pretty...another heartbreaker...

Simply Delicious!

Whitney and I made a "healthy" cake the other day. We used devil's food cake mix and a can of pumpkin, sprinked a little powerderd sugar on top...delicious! As you can see, she is her mama's girl attacking that beater.
Love the intensity. I mean, this is serious stuffReally? Trying the whole thing?Ok, maybe a finger will work betterNope, attack, attack!

Can I have some more please?

Gettin' Away in the City

Ben had a bye week last week. They were given almost an entire week off which is unheard of in this business. Our great friends Chad and Mandy came up from Georgia and we all spent the weekend in the city, without the kiddos. Big thanks to Grammy Hartsock for coming in to watch our girls and Chad and Mandy's families for watching their kids. We had an awesome time and saw so much and ate sooooo much. The trip pretty much revolved around food, including a chocolate restaurant that we waited for over an hour. It was open until 2am, I think we left around 1am. We walked all over lower Manhattan, Greenwich Village, Chinatown, Little Italy. We mastered the subway system...ok, maybe not mastered, but we could at least get our way around. We saw Grand Central Station, the Chrysler Building, the ticker-tape parade for the Yankees, the World Trade Center temporary Memorial, St. Patrick's Cathedral, the NY Public Library, Times Square, Central Park...the list goes on. We saw a ton of stuff and ate at some pretty awesome food joints too. Before we headed back on Sunday, Ben and I squeezed in a visit to the Museum of Natural History as well. It was a great way to get re-energized for the second half of the season!
At the top of the building where we stayed, we rented an apartment for the weekendFrom the ticker-tape parade

In Bryant Park, this is where Fashion Week takes place. They had a bunch of vendors set up here. Mandy and I could've spent alot more time here, but the guys just didn't seem as impressed.

Wires

If there's a wire around, you can find our girl...

Lindsey

So Lindsey is just a few days shy of 7 months, she just started crawling a couple weeks ago and now this...

She did it all by herself...I turned around and there she was! Guess she wants to expand her diet.

Whitney's First Trip to the Dentist

So when I scheduled her first dentist appointment, I should have thought more about my timing...right after Halloween!? What was I thinking? Anyway, we still had a good report...no cavities! She wasn't quite sure having no cavities was a good thing. When I told her proudly "No cavities!" she had a very confused look on her face. I tried explaining it to her, but I'm still not sure she quite gets it. At any rate, she did wonderful and the hygienist and dentist made it an enjoyable experience for her. She got a balloon, a princess toothbrush, some stickers and tattoos, bubbles and some pink rubber gloves! She said her favorite part was the cleaning, but from my observation it was definitely the spitting. Oh, and when giving the option of flavors for her toothpaste, she chose chocolate...a girl after my own heart!
Such a big girlJust chillin' in her sunglassesCounting teeth, 10 on top, 10 on bottom"Tickling" her teethMore "tickling"And finally, spitting

Jets vs. Miami

Whitney came to the game with us this time. She loves cheering for her daddy! And all the snacks she can get to keep her happy! Tough loss again...

Trip to the City with the Grandparents

Boths sets of Grandparents were in town over the weekend, so we went into the city to the New York Aquarium. Since it was Halloween day the girls wore their costumes and they had a little tent set up for kids to dance around.

Trick or Treat

The Jets opened up their facility to families for trick or treating, dinner and bouncy slide fun for Halloween. Whitney was a butterfly, her choice, and Lindsey was a flower. I was so excited about the flower costume because I bought it a year ago (before she was even born) on clearance for $2 and it is might be the cutest thing ever! This was Whitney's first year to really understand the excitement of trick or treating and since we didn't want tons of candy at home, we strategically bought a small bag to put the candy in...hmmmm...maybe next year we'll just let her use her hands because we still ended up with two gallon size Ziploc bags full! She had a great time though and it was fun to see her so excited about candy.

Ok, so technically it's a dragonfly costume,
but all of the butterfly costumes were ugly

She's Crawling!

Baby girl is really crawling now and she loves it. Whitney, on the other hand, doesn't like that Lindsey can "get her" or her toys...and so it begins...

Party Time!

Our new friends Jordyn and Sydney had their two year birthday party at Pump It Up yesterday after our pumpkin patch excursion. Needless to say, Whitney was a tired little girl at the end of the day.
